dated July 17, 1863 metions:

"Aunt Jane" = Jane (Wilson)Stanfield & "Aunt Rachel Jones"

"I got one [letter] from Aunt Jane, they was all well and she said that she had not heard from any of the connection for some time and I got a letter from Emily Smith [(Ouderkirk)], they was all well there but she said that Uncle Abel had got a letter from Aunt Rachel Jones and they was all well but Will he had a spell of sickness in the spring and lost the use of his arm and there was 4 lumps come on his shoulder and the Dr. thought that he would never get over it and will be vary bad on Aunt Rachel if that is the case."

(Riley’s mother, Susannah had a sister named Jane so that must be "Aunt Jane" the "Aunt Rachel Jones" seems to come from the George side of the house as she had written to Abel T. George.)

Emily Smith was Riley’s cousin, dau of Mary "Polly" (George) Smith.
